In case there is not such configuration available, I suggest to allow the users to choose by default another printer - at least when the default printer is a PDF application. I checked if I can change the default printer in Acrobat Reader software, but I could not find a place.Įither I missed the configuration page for printers, either there is no such configuration available. Issue is i cant seem to find a way to set it system wide. In the right-pane, scroll down and uncheck Let Windows manage my default printer option. This seems to work for any users that have already logged on. Go to Settings > Devices > select Printers & Scanners in the left-pane. Force the group policy to all client computers. I set the device string to the printer name and port, isMRUEstablished i set to 0 and legacydefaultprintermode i set to 1 to prevent windows from setting the last used printer as default. Find the Turn off Windows default printer management policy and enable it. In the search results, click Printers & scanners. Navigate to User Configuration Administrative Templates Control Panel Printers. Instead of using the default printers configured in Windows, it would be nice if I could select a printer of my choice, instead of the default "PDF". In Windows 10, click in the Windows search box and type printer. We can always select the proper printer from the list, but I would prefer (if possible) to set up a specific printer to be used by Acrobat Reader. If the document is already in PDF format and open in Adobe Acrobat Reader, when we print it, we actually expect to print it to a real printer. When we open an existent pdf document using Adobe Acrobat Reader, if we decide to print it, we find that the default printer is "PDF". Setting Default Printer Settings (Windows) STEP 1 Opening Devices and Printers STEP 2 Choose Devices and Printers STEP 3 Open the Printer Properties. Our reports are first saved as PDF documents. Set clPrinters wshNetwork.EnumPrinterConnections On Error Resume Next For i 0 to clPrinters.Count - 1 Step 2 wshNetwork.RemovePrinterConnection clPrinters.Item (i+1), true Next Add Network printer wshNetwork. We are using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as the default printer on some computers.
